//ABOUT US

We are not a bank.

But, you can call us one if you want. We won’t be offended. After all, it’s called “banking,” not “credit union-ing.” We’re okay with that. Besides, you can do anything at a credit union that you can do at a bank.

So, what’s the difference? (We thought you might ask.)

You own us. No, really. When you open a savings account at Louisiana FCU you become a member/owner. At the bank, you’re just a customer.

It sounds cool and all, but what does being an owner really mean?

Here’s the deal: Banks have paid stockholders. Credit unions don’t. Since we aren’t paying stockholders, we return our earnings directly back to you, the owner. This means lower loan rates and lower fees.

So go ahead and call us what you want. We don’t mind. After all, we wouldn’t argue with an owner.
