//JOB HUNTING TIPS
It’s no secret that it’s getting tougher and tougher for young people to snag a job during the summer months. If you’re still looking for the perfect summer job, check out these helpful hints:
Tell everyone you know that you’re looking for a job: neighbors, friends and relatives. Use your social networks (i.e. Facebook) to spread the word. Also, don’t overlook your parents’ friends and acquaintances.
Hit the pavement.
Don’t rely solely on the Internet for job listings. Many small “mom and pop” companies don’t use the Internet to advertise jobs. Look for “help wanted” signs in store windows.
Job hunting is tough and it’s easy to get discouraged. Potential employers can pick up on negativity, so stay positive, even if you’re not having much luck.
Start your own business.
Can’t find your dream job? Create your own. Some of the most successful companies were started by people under 21 years old. Decide what you enjoy doing, and see if you can somehow make money doing it.
Making a few bucks this Summer? Remember, put some away in your credit union account!
